Christy Abrams, RNC-OB, CBC, CCE

Christy Abrams is a Registered Nurse certified in Obstetrics, Childbirth Education, Lactation Counseling and CPR instruction. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice and Political Science at Rutgers University, Christy realized law was not the career she wanted to continue pursing. She returned to school the following semester to start her pre-requisites to complete her nursing degree. She completed a highly competitive accelerated nursing program in January of 2008, while seven months pregnant with her first child.

Upon completing nursing school and after giving birth, Christy started working on a medical-surgical floor, a place many new graduate nurses find themselves, but not a good fit for her. After nine months, Christy moved to Labor and Delivery where she continues to work on a per diem basis.

Over these years Christy has become passionate about educating pregnant women and their support team about Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Breastfeeding and CPR. Far too often families walk into Labor and Delivery with only the knowledge they have Googled or been told by family and friends. While that information is useful it is not always accurate, evidence-based, or what happens in reality. Christy believes in telling it like it is which may not always be what people want to hear in the moment but what they are often thankful for in hindsight.

Christy’s goal is provide the information you need in a fun and humorous way. She makes herself available via email at any time for follow-up questions and will work with you to ensure that your experience is a positive one.

Christy Abrams is a registered nurse certified in Obstetrics. She also holds certifications in Childbirth Education, Lactation Counseling and CPR Instruction as well as being certified in BLS, ACLS, ALSO and NRP.
