RNC-OB, CCE, EFM-C, IBCLC, SPBCPE, PMH-C
Nurse Educator
Yes, there are many letters after my name. In my career, I have worked in a Level IV Labor and Delivery unit, taught hospital-based and private parent education classes, worked in a birth center, and provided lactation services.
Over the years, I have become passionate about educating pregnant women and their support teams on Labor & Delivery, Postpartum care, Baby Care, and Breastfeeding.
My certifications include Obstetrics, CCE or certified childbirth educator, Spinning Babies (SpBCPE), Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
My goal is to provide the information you need in a fun and humorous way. I make myself available via email at any time for follow-up questions and will work with you to ensure that your experience is a positive one.
Having an educator with current clinical experience sets me apart from many other educators in the birth field.
Who I work with:
I love to create relationships during pregnancy. I think the best scenario is for parents to go into birth, breastfeeding, and postpartum, understanding what to expect. What is normal, what is abnormal, and what can we do in either scenario? When I walk into a postpartum room for a consult, I can clearly tell the difference between the parents who have invested in education versus those who have not.
In postpartum, I typically work with newborns from 0-3 months, with my preference being brought in within the first few days to weeks. Why? Honestly, it is easier to fix issues early. This does not mean that issues cannot develop down the line, but having a good foundation is better than seeking help weeks into a breastfeeding journey that has had difficulties from the beginning. It does not mean that I cannot help or that difficulties cannot be fixed, but they may take time, dedication, and other referrals, and I like to be upfront about that from the start.
