Lactation Education
While breastfeeding is natural and recommended, it is a learned skill. Prenatal preparation can enhance confidence and start your breastfeeding journey off on a smoother note.

Breast anatomy
Basics of making milk (colostrum vs mature milk)
What to expect in labor and delivery
What to expect day 1-3
What to expect day 3-12
Common challenges

Class is 1.5 hours. Cost is $50 in person, $175 virtual private class.

Lactation Consultations
A Lactation Consultation within the first few days will set you up for breastfeeding success. A plan of care will be developed and provided to ensure confidence post-consultation. Parents will be able to text/ email for further help post-consult (all texts/emails will be answered within 24 hours). Follow-up visits may be suggested.
A 30-minute online session (mini-consult) can also be scheduled. This might be great for an experienced breastfeeding parent who has a few questions but doesn't need a complete lactation assessment and plan of care.
In-Home consult offered within 10 miles of 07751 or 5 miles of 07702. Consults outside of those areas are in-office only at New Mom School, Shrewsbury.
